Sunset and Thunderstorm - Pittsburgh Pennsylvania
A thunderstorm moved through the area tonight. From downtown the clouds were really wonderful with the sunset yellow and oranges and on the other side of the thunderclouds, a deep blue. Add in the Incline and the Gateway Clipper and the Point Fountain and I think this is just about the perfect photo of downtown.

Pittsburgh decries Police Brutality under a Strawberry Moon
In the aftermath of the public murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis countless thousands around the world came together to decry the wanton use of excessive, and often times lethal force in what should be routine interactions between law enforcement and persons of color.
Here in Pittsburgh there have been many demonstrations all across the city. There is something so Hopperian about the city these days. During the day there are still SOME people and traffic (though not much), but at night, the city is entirely empty. I've wanted to try and capture this image a long time ago but never though the street would be empty enough for me to safely capture it.

Highmark is Blue - Front Line Health Workers
Over the last few years I've been downtown Pittsburgh at literally all hours of the day and night. The last time I was downtown in the middle of the night was after a trip to Japan when I was suffering from Jetlag. At 2 AM it was quiet, but there were a number of cars, people, etc.
This night was Saturday during the COVID pandemic at around midnight. Not. A. Soul. No cars. No buses, No people. The city was entirely empty. It was beautiful and silent, but eerie and unsettling.
